The Village of Skokie is also known for it's excellent public school system, as well as offering several private school options. It is home to several colleges, including the recent addition of National-Louis University. This emphasis on education is one of the reasons the town is already offering free Wi-Fi service in several public areas (including Oakton Park, only a few blocks from the apartment) and is in the process of expanding its free wireless network to more locations.
Skokie also offers a rich and diverse community promoting harmony & understanding. It is home to The Ethical Humanist Society of Greater Chicago and plays host to the annual Festival of Cultures.
